Self-Rescue Techniques

Self-Rescue Course participants practicing a pick off.

Are you prepared for an accident at the crag?

Being a competent climber requires many skills.  In addition to movement skills and the technical skills required to ascend and descend securely all competent climbers should know how to treat medical emergencies on the cliff and have the technical skills to self-rescue.  Seneca Rocks Climbing School has partnered with Vertical Medicine Resources to create a unique course that addresses these fundamental skills that so many climbers lack.   This two day course integrates climbing medicine with self-rescue techniques then challenges the participants in live scenarios on the cliffs of Nelson Rocks.

Participants should have outdoor climbing experience prior to this course.  Experience leading sport or traditional routes is highly recommended, but not required.  No medical experience necessary.  This unique climbing medicine course is only offered through the Seneca Rocks Climbing School in conjunction with Vertical Medicine Resources.

Dates: October 5-6th 2013                            Cost: $350+tax
