Our climbing instructors are who set us apart from other climbing schools and guide services
All of our rock climbing instructors have taken courses and/or exams with the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA), and all are required to maintain a Wilderness First Responder certification or higher. The AMGA certifies guides and climbing instructors to the highly respected standards of their organization. The AMGA is the only internationally recognized professional association of trained and certified guides and instructors in the United States. The Wilderness First Responder (WFR) is a nationally recognized emergency medicine certification that trains participants to respond to emergencies in remote wilderness settings.
Our society expects professionals such as doctors and pilots to seek training in order to be trusted with our safety. Your rock climbing guide should be held to the same standard.
These trainings and certifications are only the foundation of a good instructor. Seneca Rocks Climbing School goes further by hiring individuals who have a background in education, either experiential or academic. This combination of skills is what ensures you get as much as possible from your rock climbing guide.
All of our instructors are experienced climbers who strive to provide not only top rate instruction but also a fun and enjoyable experience while climbing at Seneca Rocks.
We believe that a strong foundation is the key to a long and productive climbing career. Through a process of continuity and individualization of curriculum, we ensure that all course work meets the needs and desires of each individual student.
Seneca Rocks Climbing School realizes that students have different goals as climbers, from top roping to alpine big walls. We will do our best to meet your needs and without sacrificing any of the core essential skills.
